Integrated Counsellor and Therapist
Hello, I'm Catherine. I hope you find the following information about my private practice useful and that you feel able to reach out to me for help and support at this difficult time in your life.
My counselling style is warm, friendly and relaxed. I’ll tailor your therapy sessions according to your individual needs.
After having worked and supported several high-profile figures, such as politicians, health and fitness authors and leaders of key national institutions, a few years ago I decided to support people in greater need. I wanted to use my education and training in psychology more directly.
It is important for you to choose a therapist with whom you can have a trusting relationship. I offer a confidential and free 15 minute phone conversation to help you decide if you would like to work with me. During the consultation you can tell me about the issues that are troubling you and I can let you know how I can help you resolve these issues.
I never tell my clients how to behave but guide them to utilise creative problem-solving. I help them look at their issues from new perspectives.
At present, millennials make up the largest number of clients, but I gladly work with people of all ages. Many of my clients have been from a diverse range of cultural and ethnicity backgrounds.
Sometimes people find it very difficult to move forward in an area of their lives when something from the past is holding them back. I encourage my clients to confront sometimes painful and traumatic experiences of their early life, support them every step of the way by helping them to come to terms with and accept their past.
There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing my clients regaining confidence and self-assurance. For some it means a more real and happier version of themselves. They become stronger and more emotionally resilient.
I work flexibly with clients. Some come weekly on a long-term basis and other I have seen for just 3-6 weekly sessions.
I’m currently providing 50 minute Skype sessions. My approach is tolerant, non-judgemental and empathetic. My approach is based on respect, one of the core ethical principles of my Professional Association - the BPS, of which I’m a Graduate Member. Our sessions together will be completely confidential.
Good mental health is so crucial to living a satisfying and enriching life. I’m looking forward to working with you.
